Overview

Get up close to the action (and away from the crowds) on this unique Bush Rover safari, then relax on the picturesque island beaches of Zanzibar.

The Bush Rover Migration Camp is a brilliant concept that turns the most iconic of safari vehicles, the Land Rover, into a luxury tented camp. Unlike lodges, the mobile vehicles can be positioned in the best vantage points to witness incredible Serengeti wildlife away from the crowds. The camps are especially popular around the time of the great wildebeest migration between July and October.

Any safari to Tanzania wouldn’t be complete without visiting the incredible UNESCO world heritage listed Ngorongoro Crater. This giant volcanic wonder teems with wildlife against a spectacular backdrop. After all that excitement, you can relax on the beautiful island of Zanzibar. Aside from white sand beaches, swaying palms and turquoise seas, it also offers a wide range of historical, cultural and natural attractions. This is a great combination of safari & beach that would make a fabulous honeymoon or special vacation.

DAY 3 - Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti (together with Kenya’s Masai Mara) form Africa’s most famous wildlife park. The proliferation of wildlife here is staggering with lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino making up the Big Five. The greatest safari spectacle in the world heads through here between July and September. The great wildebeest migration encompasses more than a million animals, who cross the Mara River to follow the rains. Aside from traditional vehicle safaris, you can go hot-air ballooning over the Serengeti plains or even do a horse riding safari.

DAY 4 - Serengeti National Park

Explore this game-rich area of Serengeti and marvel at the greatest safari spectacle in the world. Tanzania is blessed with an incredible array of safari experiences, but the Serengeti, with its magnificent migrating herds and huge population of predators, is unbeatable. Return to the camp after your game drive, and sit atop your Bush Rover suite elevated balcony and survey the scene from a superb vantage point.

DAY 5 - Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, set out across the Serengeti on a game drive before heading to the Ngorongoro conservation area, arriving near the crater rim late afternoon. Your luxury tented camp, The Highlands, is set on the edge of the mountain forest, hugging the Olmoti Crater and strikes a perfect balance between a true wilderness experience and a stylish, contemporary escape, with a range of activities on offer here that is not possible elsewhere in Ngorongoro. Follow ancient Maasai trails and visit local communities to catch a glimpse of the indigenous culture that has defined this corner of East Africa for centuries.

Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Accommodation: The Highlands

DAY 6 - Ngorongoro Crater

Descend into the Ngorongoro crater, a UNESCO world heritage site, which holds the greatest concentration of wildlife in Africa. It is 600 meters deep, 20 kilometres wide and the largest unflooded, unbroken caldera in the world. It's an extraordinary ecosystem where you can find the Big Five and if you're lucky, the endangered black rhino. When it was still active, the volcano deposited ash on the nearby plains, preserving many fossils in Olduvai (Oldupai) Gorge, discovered by Louis and Mary Leakey.

Accommodation: The Highlands

DAY 7 - Zanzibar

After an early breakfast, head off through Karatu to Manyara Airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar. On arrival, transfer by road to Kendwa in the north part of Unguja island.
