Overview

Spectacular wildlife, stunning landscapes and a range of great activities are what you get on this fabulous adventure through Zimbabwe’s best National Parks.

Starting off at one of the seven natural wonders of the world, the incredible Victoria Falls, this trip doesn’t disappoint. There’s wildlife aplenty as you journey through Zimbabwe’s fabulous national parks, which have far fewer visitors than their more famous neighbours. This means you get more of the wildlife to yourself, with the trip concluding at another watery African natural wonder, the immense and beautiful Lake Kariba.

Day 1 - Victoria Falls National Park

On arrival at Victoria Falls International Airport you will be met by a Big Safari Company representative and transferred to Victoria Falls Hotel.

At Victoria Falls, the earth splits open and swallows one of Africa’s greatest rivers, the mighty Zambezi, creating one of the seven natural wonders of the world. As the water hits the narrow depths of the Batoka Gorge beneath, it blasts a cloud of mist skywards, lending the falls their local name ‘mosi-oa-tunya’ (the smoke that thunders).

Established in 1904, the Victoria Falls Hotel has a private path leading to the Falls. Overlooking the Victoria Falls Bridge and gorge, it is one of the most famous hotels in Africa and is renowned for its colonial elegance and charm.

Included meals: None
Accomodation: Victoria Falls Hotel
Optional Extras: there are a huge range of optional activities on offer here for either the adrenaline junkie or the faint of heart. Scenic helicopter flights, village visits, white water rafting, bungee jumping, walking with rhinos or souvenir shopping in local markets are just a few examples.

After breakfast transfer by road to Hwange National Park

Somalisa Camp is an authentic, elegant bush camp set in the heart of the National Park offering an exclusive safari experience. Its stunning location, tucked away on an acacia island, along the edge of an ancient seasonal flood plain, gives it breathtaking views of the savannah plains.

Hwange’s diverse habitats mean that it offers large numbers of desert adapted, plains and woodland animals. Hwange also boasts one of Africa’s last strongholds of endangered African wild dogs.

This remote park is a designated UNESCO world heritage site whose name comes from a series of four pools, remnants of oxbow lakes, that run parallel to the river. Mana is a wonderful location for guided safari walks and canoe safaris.
