Encompassing unique accommodation and a wild beach/safari finale, this is a perfect itinerary for adventurous families or those who are looking for a great wildlife experience, without the crowds.

As well as encompassing the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, on this trip the fabulously quirky Bush Rovers will be almost as memorable as the wildlife! This mobile camp gets you a front row seat to incredible animal encounters, especially during the great wildebeest migration, when you will be in prime position away from everyone else. At Saadani National Park you will stay in a tower with incredible 360 degree views and combine a thrilling off the beaten track safari with miles of beautiful deserted white sand beach!

DAY 1 - Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro airport in Arusha. Arusha is the safari capital of Tanzania, close to Mount Kilimanjaro and the Manyara, Tarangire and Ngorongoro National Parks. You will be met by a Big Safari Company representative and transferred to the Serena Hotel in Arusha which is set on the woodland slopes of Mount Meru at the edge of Lake Duluti.

DAY 2 - Serengeti National Park

Take a morning flight from Arusha to Serengeti National Park. Transfer to the award-winning Bush Rover Migration Camp - a unique, private camp which moves between the best locations in the Serengeti, maximising your opportunity to see wildlife, whilst being away from the crowds. These spectacular Land Rovers have been converted into stunning safari rooms, with an elevated tented bedroom, with a balcony to watch wildlife and even a bathtub in the back!

DAY 3 - Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti (together with Kenya’s Masai Mara) form Africa’s most famous wildlife park. The proliferation of wildlife here is staggering with lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino making up the Big Five. The greatest safari spectacle in the world heads through here between July and September. The great wildebeest migration encompasses more than a million animals, who cross the Mara River to follow the rains. Aside from traditional vehicle safaris, you can go hot-air ballooning over the Serengeti plains or even do a horse riding safari.

DAY 4 - Serengeti National Park

Enjoy thrilling safaris in this game-rich area of Serengeti. Return to the camp after your game drive, relax in the mess tent or from the balcony of your Bush Rover suite and take in the surroundings, before heading to the campfire for a sundowner and dinner prepared by your private chef.

DAY 5 - Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, game drive across the Serengeti to the Ngorongoro conservation area arriving at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge located at the highest point on Ngorongoro crater’s entire rim. It’s location offers awe inspiring views and the lodge has some of the most breathtaking sunsets to be seen in Tanzania.

DAY 6 - Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, spend your day on a game drive inside the crater which is world famous for its natural beauty and abundance of diverse wildlife. It is one of Africa’s most popular safari destinations with the Big 5 in abundance as well as a host of other wildlife species including large herds of zebra and wildebeest. It offers visitors an array of wonderful activities including excellent bird watching, trekking, wildlife viewing, mountain biking and visiting a local Maasai village. Enjoy a packed lunch on safari before returning to the lodge for sundowners and dinner.

DAY 7 - Saadani National Park

This morning fly to Saadani National Park via Manyara airstrip. On arrival at the airstrip in Saadani, you’ll be met by your guide and game driven to Babs’ camp.

Babs’ Camp is one of the best places for wildlife in Saadani National Park. It’s unique 20 metre-high tower comes complete with en-suite rooms, a restaurant, bar and even a crow’s nest where guests can have wonderful 360 degree views of the bush and Indian Ocean in the distance.

Accommodation: Babs' Camp 

DAY 8 - Saadani National Park

Today, you’ll be woken early before heading out for a guided walking safari and game drive. After a rest and relax, head out for a fantastic day of game drives and a thrilling boat safari on the park’s Wami River ending at Simply Saadani Camp.

Simply Saadani Camp has rooms facing the stunning Indian Ocean and surrounded by a wildlife park. The camp is run on solar power and built using recycled natural materials so there is no noise and pollution. The lovely restaurant comes alive at night with the sounds of the sea close by. Guests can also enjoy dinner on the beach by the light of the moon.

DAY 9 - Saadani National Park

This park is unique as Tanzania’s only coastal wildlife conservancy in East Africa, combining safari and beach. It has miles of deserted white sand, a marine park protecting an important green turtle nesting beach, and thrilling wildlife spotting including large elephant herds and regular lion sightings. It is one of just two destinations in Tanzania which offer a boat safari.

DAY 10 - Zanzibar and home

After a leisurely breakfast, transfer to Saadani Airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar and your onward international flight.
