DAY 1 - Welcome to Tanzania

Your honeymoon safari starts upon arrival in Tanzania at Kilimanjaro Airport in Arusha.

Arusha is the safari capital of Tanzania, close to Mount Kilimanjaro and ideally located near the Manyara, Tarangire and Ngorongoro National Parks.

You will be met by a Big Safari Company representative and transferred to the quaint Serena Hotel in Arusha. Set on the woodland slopes of Mount Meru at the edge of Lake Duluti, it is the ideal place to relax after your long journey, ready to begin your adventure in the morning.

Accommodation: Arusha Serena Hotel Resort & Spa

DAY 2 - To the Serengeti National Park

Today, head out to begin your honeymoon safari at one of Africa's most unique accommodation options.

This morning, after breakfast transfer to Arusha Airport for a short flight to the Bush Rover Migration Camp.

The Bush Rover Camp has three airstrips, depending on the date of travel and its location. From December through to March, the Bush Rover Suites are situated in the south-east of Serengeti, in Kusini, whereas from late May to mid-July, the camp is on a private site close to the Grumeti River in the western corridor of Serengeti. And from mid-July through to October, the Bush Rovers are set up at a fantastic site on the Mara River, close to a wildebeest crossing point but away from the crowds. All 3 private sites have been specially chosen following years of research and knowledge of the migration movements, to ensure you have an amazing migration experience but also one you share with nobody else.

Upon landing, you will game drive to the Bush Rover Migration Camp in time for lunch. After a short briefing, you’ll head out for an afternoon game drive arriving back to camp at last light. Relax with a sundowner atop your balcony and take in the views or sit by the campfire listening to the sounds of the bush build to a crescendo before dinner.

Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Accommodation: Bush Rover Migration Camp, Serengeti National Park

DAY 3 - Exploring the Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti (together with Kenya’s Masai Mara) form Africa’s most famous wildlife park. The proliferation of wildlife here is staggering with lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino making up the Big Five. The greatest safari spectacle in the world heads through here between July and September. The great wildebeest migration encompasses more than a million animals, who cross the Mara River to follow the rains.

Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Accommodation: Bush Rover Migration Camp, Serengeti National Park

DAY 4 - In the Expanse of the Serengeti

Explore this game-rich area of Serengeti and marvel at the greatest safari spectacle in the world. Tanzania is blessed with an incredible array of safari experiences, but the Serengeti, with its magnificent migrating herds and huge population of predators, is unbeatable. Return to the camp after your game drive, and sit atop your Bush Rover suite elevated balcony and survey the scene from a superb vantage point.

Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Accommodation: Bush Rover Migration Camp, Serengeti National Park

DAY 5 - To the Ngorongoro Crater

This morning, after breakfast, head to Tanzania's other notable safari destination - the Ngorongoro Crate.

As you set out across the Serengeti, enjoy a game drive out of the park as you heading to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, arriving near the crater rim late afternoon.

Here, your luxury tented camp, The Highlands, is set on the edge of the mountain forest, hugging the Olmoti Crater. It strikes a perfect balance between a true wilderness experience and a stylish, contemporary escape.

Check in to your accommodation and enjoy the evening at leisure.

Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Accommodation: The Highlands, Ngorongoro Crater

DAY 6 - Discovering the Ngorongoro Crater

Today, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater - a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which holds the greatest concentration of wildlife in Africa. It is 600 meters deep, 20 kilometres wide and the largest unflooded, unbroken caldera in the world. It's an extraordinary ecosystem where you can find the Big Five and if you're lucky, the endangered black rhino. When it was still active, the volcano deposited ash on the nearby plains, preserving many fossils in Olduvai (Oldupai) Gorge

This afternoon, why not enjoy some of the range of activities on offer at your camp, not possible elsewhere in Ngorongoro. Perhaps follow ancient Maasai trails and visit local communities to catch a glimpse of the indigenous culture that has defined this corner of East Africa for centuries.

Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Accommodation: The Highlands, Ngorongoro Crater

DAY 7 - To the Island Paradise of Zanzibar

After an early breakfast, it is time to say goodbye to Ngorongoro Crater as your days on safari come to an end, as it is now time for the relaxation part of your honeymoon in the island paradise of Zanzibar.

First, head through Karatu to Manyara Airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar. On arrival in Zanzibar, transfer by road to Kendwa, in the north part of Unguja Island. Boasting some of the archipelago’s finest offerings, the lovely Zuri Zanzibar Hotel offers 300 meters of private, pristine beach and a lush spice garden. There are gorgeous African sunsets here, due to the hotel’s west-facing location on the northern edge of the main island of Unguja.

Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Accommodation: Zuri Zanzibar Hotel, Zanzibar

DAY 8 - Relaxing in Zanzibar

After the chaos, stresses and busy days of the wedding, it is now time to sit back and relax, enjoy your time together as a couple. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Accommodation: Zuri Zanzibar Hotel, Zanzibar

DAY 9 - Exploring Zanzibar's Culture & Heritage

Whilst the sun-lounger and balmy seas are always a great option for these days, Zanzibar has so much to offer besides paradise beaches that can be added to your stay!

You can set sail on a traditional dhow or go on a cultural walk to the local fishing village of Nungwi, to learn about local life and boat building. Alternatively, visit the local fish market, or a spice garden and see conservation in action at the nearby green turtle sanctuary. What's more, Zanzibar's capital city, the historical and UNESCO World Heritage listed Stone Town, is a fascinating day trip with narrow alleys and beautiful architecture. We can personalise your time here to make it your perfect honeymoon.

Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Accommodation: Zuri Zanzibar Hotel, Zanzibar
